Welcome to SA Gemeente (Congregation) Norwich !
The "SA Gemeente" (SA Congregation) is a multi-denominational Christian congregation that consists mainly of Afrikaans speaking South Africans resident in the United Kingdom. Although our confessional basis is reformed, we welcome people from all denominations and all nationalities
Our believes are based on the Bible and Holy gospel of God. This Gospel depicts God as the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We have various ministries throughout the UK which are managed by 4 community congregations - London , South, North and Midlands .
SAGNorwich is part of North, but are managed by an independent steering group, elected out of SAGNorwich, since 2007.
Our congregation here in Norwich is made of a mixture of ‘working holiday makers', young married couples starting families and a more mature group, who are looking at settling in the UK.
We're often looking for someone that cares and understands, having gone through all the emotions relocating to a new country. We all experience the same processes and emotions; making us ideal to provide emotional (and physical) support.
Here in East Anglia we want to be that support. We want to invite you into our family and share the joy of friendship, love and support everybody is willing to give. These friendships open up a whole new passage to an exciting journey closer to our heavenly Father.
SAGNorwich's dream is that everybody will discover God as their fountain of life. That spirituality will not just be part of our daily lives, together with all the other aspects, but that God will be truly in charge of our lives. Our vision is that all of us shall be truly different because we get all our strength from Him. This dream (vision) was inspired from Psalm 36:10: “ For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.”
The services are every 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month at the Bawburgh Community Centre at 10:00. Services are in Afrikaans, but we do have an English tranlation service available. Afterwards we get the opportunity for a nice get together over a cuppa; catching up with the latest news.
There are also a few cellgroups scattered all over East Anglia for you to join to make your spiritual journey much more fun and productive. Besides that, there are also quite a few ministries to be part of. Just another way to find your feet en feel the warmth and welcome of your new family here in the heart of East England .
